FIELD: feeding of consumable welding wire from supply reel to welding gun, possibly in machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: drive roller and drive gear wheel units are joined with plates for guiding wire along linear path through apparatus. Drive rollers are removably mounted on respective portions of support shafts by means of springy slit stop ring. Guiding plate unit includes guiding plate with guiding slit, covering plate overlapping slit in order to provide guiding passage for wire through apparatus. Effort transmission unit is joined with support axle of upper drive roller and drive gear wheel of each pair for adjusting engagement between drive rollers and wire. Members for transmitting effort are mounted on rotary arm and on cover with possibility of displacement between opened and closed positions corresponding to working and idle positions of effort transmission units relative to units of upper drive rollers and drive gear wheels. At opened position of rotary arm and cover it is possible to remove and to change unit of drive rollers and drive plates. EFFECT: improved design allowing to eliminate wire building, to increase stability of wire feed and to enhance welding quality. 84 cl, 31 dwg
