FIELD: electrical engineering; overspeed protection of hydraulic turbines. SUBSTANCE: switch has two bracket-mounted engageable rotary members carrying main and auxiliary inertia weights and opposing flexible members, as well as actuating mechanism for turning on protective system. Second rotary member is mounted relative to first one for engaging the latter and locking it in position until rotor speed is brought to preset value required for switch operation. This value is used as basis for selecting ratio between force of auxiliary inertia weight and that of opposing flexible member. This ratio determines angle of turn of second rotary member up to its disengagement with first rotary member. EFFECT: improved operating reliability of switch. 5 cl, 1 dwg
