FIELD: information displaying equipment. SUBSTANCE: device has matrix of image elements with passive or active addressing using film system with self-emission flat cathode and screen with cathode- luminescent coating. Its front panel consists of anode which has cathode-luminescent coating spaced from it by vacuum space of rear panel, which carries film flat self-emission cathode and two groups of intersecting control electrodes. Cathode and control electrodes are spaced by dielectric film. Self-emission electrons are passed from cathode to anode through holes which are made in control electrodes and dielectric films and provide channel for control of electron flow using control electrodes. Size in cross section of holes in dielectric film is larger than those in film control electrodes. Terminals of all electrodes of device are located on single (rear) panel. Space between panels is provided by support members. Film flat self-emission cathode for self-emission is covered by film coating which is partially located on surface of film current- conducting layer. Said coating may be manufactured from material negative with respect to electron, in particular, from diamond-like carbon film.
