FIELD: gas treating equipment. SUBSTANCE: membrane unit has at least one membrane made of palladium or of its alloy, pipe connections for supply of gas mixture and for branching out clear gas. Also provided is means for fastening and sealing of membrane. Each membrane is installed between flanges which incorporate sealing members. Flanges are connected by fixing members. Located between supporting surfaces of flanges are gaskets which are made of material with coefficient of thermal expansion larger than corresponding coefficients of thermal expansion for materials of flanges and fastening members. Aforesaid embodiment of membrane unit is featured by prolonged service life and higher reliability in operation. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 8 cl, 3 dwg
