FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sealing facilities. Proposed sealing ring is made of tube coiled into ring whose end are hermetically welded to each other. Core enclosed in tube is made up of separate blocks of pressed powder of expanded graphite foil rolled to density of 0.6-1.2 g per cu.cm. Core blocks are interference fitted in tube. Surfaces of ring in contact with surfaces to be sealed can be coated with polytetrafluoroethylene or metal whose yield point is lower than yield point of tube material. Ring grooves with sharp points are made on surfaces of tube in contact with sealing surfaces. Grooves are overlapped over sharp points by sealing material, yield point lower than yield point of tube material. EFFECT: increased elasticity of sealing ring. 7 cl, 6 dwg
