FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed locking device has base 1 of seat cushion 2 secured on runners 3 fastened to vehicle floor 4 and connected by hinge joint 5 to lever 6 of backrest 7. Base 8 of backrest 7 is connected with lever 6 and is shifted into front nonoperating position towards steering wheel 9 (or towards dashboard). Locking member 10 has cylindrical housing 11 with larger diameter section 12 and smaller diameter section 13. Bushing 14 is fitted in side part 18 of base 1. Locking member 10 is inserted by section 13 into bushing 14 and is fixed in bushing by pin 23 of locking device arranged in housing of locking member 10 and including, in additional to pin, one cylindrical lock 19 and rotor 21. EFFECT: simplified design of proposed device; enhanced reliability of locking the backrest in shifted forward nonoperating position at attempt of unauthorized use of vehicle. 3 cl, 3 dwg
