FIELD: power engineering, applicable in units of heating systems, for instance, in furnaces of ovens and boilers. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in formation of flows of mixture of fuel and air with a different relation of components and successive burning of the mixture in flows; at burning of the second flow of mixture it is combined with unburned remain fuel of the first mixture flow and combustion products of this flow, and the relation of flow rates in flows is selected from the condition of obtaining a mixture in the zone of combustion, having an average value of excess- air coefficient within αu<αm<αl,, where αu and αl-respectively the upper and lower concentration limits of mixture explosive range. The device for realization of the method of combustion of gaseous fuel has a body, connected to the breast of the furnace, carrying an insert forming ducts for feeding the flows of mixture of fuel and air to the breast of the furnace for their swirling, as well as a center body installed inside the first duct for axial movement, and fuel distribution unit made in the form of an annular chamber with ports for feeding fuel to the ducts. The swirler for realization of the device has three or more blades connected by bushes and made in the form of parts of tapered surface and shifted relative to the longitudinal axis. EFFECT: stabilized tongue of burning, completeness of combustion of fuel and low concentration of nitrogen oxides in outgoing gases, and the swirler provides for stabilization of the tongue of burning without heating of structural members. 27 cl, 9 dwg
