FIELD: radiolocation. SUBSTANCE: proposed method can be used in perspective radars to control air traffic and space. Technical result of invention consists in provision of scope for detection and tracking of single objects by long-wave radar without participation of short-wave radar. With this in mind there is used method of radar detection and tracking of objects based on detection of objects, on measurement of angular dimension of package of signals reflected from them and of coordinates of its center with the use of long-wave radar, on resolution of objects by these data with the help of short-wave radar, on referencing of their coordinates to coordinates of center of package, on their tracking with the aid of long-wave radar by center and on repetition of operations of short-wave radar after change of dimensions of package. Long-wave radar carries out identification of single and group objects and executes operations of short-wave radar in case of detection of group objects unresolved by long-wave radar. EFFECT: detection and tracking of single objects by long-wave radar without participation of short-wave radar.
