FIELD: radiolocation, promising radars for control over air traffic. SUBSTANCE: method of radar detection and measurement of coordinates of objects is based on employment of long-wave surveillance radar. Intensity of radiation which can irradiate object or be emitted from its board in space bordering on azimuthal direction on object β, measured by long-wave radar is determined on frequencies of radio electronic aids higher than those of long-wave radar. Angular coordinates βi, εi of each i-th direction in which excess of intensity of radiation exceeds specified threshold are measured, difference Δβi = |β-βi| is computed and coordinates of j-th direction βl, εj for which difference Δβi does not exceed permissible value are used in the capacity of angular coordinates of object. If m directions with coordinates βll;...βmm, for which differences Δβl...Δβm do not exceed permissible value are detected then decision is made on location of group of objects with angular coordinates β11; βmm; that can not be resolved by long-wave radar. If S objects resolved by long-wave radar in range alone are spotted then coordinates of j-th direction are referenced to range of r-th object for which difference Δβ(r)j
