FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: magnesium-beryllium alloys with 1- 99% beryllium and no intermetallic compound MgBe13 is prepared without intermixing of liquid alloys and introduction of shearing forces owing to use of atomized or disintegrated particles of beryllium in the mixture with solid particles or liquid magnesium. Alloys of invention are characterized by low density and modulus of elasticity exceeding that of magnesium by 100-400%. Heating to superhigh temperatures is not required.
