FIELD: constructional materials. SUBSTANCE: steel cord 10 adapted for strengthening of elastomer has steel threads 12,14 of perlitic structure. Steel cord has specific plastic and elastic elongation at failure of x% and capacity for elastic and plastic elongation in cured elastomer of y%, where x and y values satisfy equation: y - 0.50 ≤ x ≤ y + 0.50. It means that total specific elongation at failure does not change much upon embedding of steel cord into elastomer. Steel cord of such construction possesses required extent of springiness potential. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality. 12 cl, 5 dwg, 2 tbl, 1 ex
