FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: each cylinder of internal combustion engine is furnished at least with three valves, it has angular displacements of the camshaft cams proportional to the rpm and load of the engine, the cams of similar valves of the common cylinder shift in the opposite directions independently of the crank- shaft turn and irrespective of one another. In the composite camshaft the working profile is made up of a pack of bushes kinematically coupled by means of keys with a central rod carrying a drive gear-wheel and a stop. The central rod with the adjustable stop is installed for longitudinal movement relative to the gear-wheel and coupled with the feed drive; cam bushes are made in the form of coaxial parts coupled by a screwed splined joint; conjugated screwed splines of bushes for similar valves of the general cylinder have different directions; screw pairs of the splined joint of the parts of cam bushes for similar valve have a different lead of helix; splined joint in the form of a screw pair is made only on one cam bush for similar valves of the common cylinder. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of valve drive of internal combustion engines and change of phases of gas distribution. 4 cl, 2 dwg
