FIELD: mechanical engineering; gasoline engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed valve timing phase of internal combustion gasoline engine contains housing with internal screw splines with drive from engine shaft and piston with external screw splines for coupling with housing and internal splines for coupling with hub provided with flange connected with intake camshaft. Pull-back spring is arranged between piston and flange. Bolt for fastening hub on shaft is arranged inside axial hole in hub forming with hub and axial ring channel communicating with mechanism control valve. Cylindrical surface on piston hub between its splines and flange is mated with cylindrical surface made inside piston, being separated from splines by ring groove. Cross hole made on bottom of groove communicates space at free end face of piston with ring channel. Space is closed by ring wall arranged in housing between its splines and cover and located on piston hub between its splines and head of bolt.
EFFECT: reduced overall dimensions of mechanism, provision of compactness.
