METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DIAGNOSTICS OF SHAPING WELDED JOINTS OF METALS AND ALLOYS Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: welding technique, possibly shaping joints of metals and alloys in other branches. SUBSTANCE: method comprises realization of more complete set of control and diagnostics functions of welding process at different conditions and at severe demands to sensitivity and reliability due to providing enlarged possibilities for automatically: tuning and self-diagnostics; compensation type amplitude tracking at controlling reflective optical and electronic components of sensitivity value; spectrum filtration type detection of non-admissible structural components of sparks, wear degree of non-consumable electrode while taking into account unknown variables of irradiation capacity and absorption loss of transmitting medium; differentiation type detection and prediction of non-admissible metallurgical defects; correlation type thermogram control of rigidity. In order to perform said procedures information data for detecting and recognizing parameters of shaping are represented: three dimensional-amplitude (extremes, gradients), three dimensional-geometrical (central zones, areas, volumes, distances, compendency, ramification, change of angles, trajectories, configurations, orientation, configuration) and statistical ( mathematical expectation, dispersion, root-mean square fluctuation or center, area, mean radius of population of quasispot objects).
