FIELD: utilization of protective gas, in particular, use of furnace hydrogen outgoing from bell-type furnaces in high-temperature annealing of electrical-sheet steel. SUBSTANCE: method includes withdrawal of protective gas from bell-type furnace during high-temperature holding, supply of exhausted protective gas to another furnace (other furnaces) during its cooling with pressure equalling the pressure of initial protective gas prior to its supply to furnace. Volume of supplied exhausted protective gas exceeds in definite relation the volume of initial protective atmosphere supplied during cooling period. Withdrawal of gas for utilization is effected at discharge of exhausted protective gas after furnace cooler. EFFECT: reduced cycle of high-temperature annealing on the average by 16 h and consumption of fresh protective atmosphere, consumption of energy resources for production of fresh protective atmosphere and improved quality of surface of heat-treated steel. 1 dwg
