FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: this relates to equipment intended for cutting out fabrics and similar materials which are used in clothing, shoe-making and other industries. In device, cutting out blade is made in the form of tensioned string with cutting coating for example including particles of high-alloy abrasive material which are actually cutting members. Cutting string is wound over spiral grooves of power-driven drums. Drums are located at both sides of spread piles. Ends of tensioned string are secured on corresponding drums. Drums are installed for possible synchronous reversible rotation in supports of carriage which in its turn is installed for possible movement across spread piles along guide members of other carriage which can move along spread piles of material over stationary guide members. Aforesaid embodiment of device is characterized by simple design and it can be efficiently used for cutting out standard materials and materials with high resistance to cutting.
