FIELD: production of yarn and similar products in textile industry. SUBSTANCE: device has feed unit, for instance, drawing mechanism, spindle with tube fitted thereon, cap and brake. Cap upper part is secured to bearing mounted on fixed support which may be provided with internal and external attachment to machine bed. Internal surface of cap on its lower part has projections entering spline grooves on external surface of tube. To improve conditions of twisting and winding-on, and respective improvement of quality of produced yarn, extension of yarn assortment potentialities and increase of device productivity, the brake presents a ridge with gently sloping front side and located in zone between edge of cap and point of yarn winding on cop. Brake may be furnished with adjuster in horizontal and vertical planes with respect to cap edge. Cap with bearing may be quickly disconnected from supporting axle during elimination of breakage or taking-off, that is ensured, for instance, by magnetic retainer. With external attachment of bearing on which cap is rotated, cap upper part is secured to external race of bearing whose internal race is fastened to lower part of supporting and guiding bushing freely rotatable irrespective of nonrotating supporting bracket and rotating cap. Attached to bushing upper part is inner race of bearing of supporting bracket connected rigidly with brake. During yarn twisting, its section from cap lower surface to receiving tube periodically contacts brake, lags behind, slipping relative to spindle and is wound on tube during each rotary motion of yarn balloon.
