METHOD FOR OPENCAST DEVELOPMENT OF DEPOSITS Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: method can be used for development of mineral deposits irrespective of their thickness and incline angle. According to method, main reserves of mineral are worked by opencast mining operations with formation of protective berms on quarry benches. In plan, reserves of each horizon is worked by blasting of descending bore-holes in direction of working side of quarry with formation of protective prisms at its design contour. Cutting of protective prisms is undertaken at concluding stage of operations at given horizon with formation of vertical or close to vertical slope within limits of horizon. Rock matter in contour-adjoining mass in zone of probable shifting of rock matter is consolidated by injection and/or by installing preliminarily stressed anchors.
