FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: ball pivot comprise monolithic housing provided with the socket for the head of the pin, pin with ball head set in the socket of the housing, and polymeric insert interposed between them. The outer surface of the head of the ball pin defines segments together with the inner surface of the insert, which are filled with a matter with low friction coefficient. The insert is made of a trancated hemisphere and has conducting section inside. The outer section is provided with projections set in the recesses of the socket of the housing and prevents it against rotation in the housing. The segments are arranged from the opposite sides of the head of the ball pin. The conducting section is connected with the indication device on the instrument panel of a vehicle.
EFFECT: reduced friction.
