FIELD: medicine; radial diagnostics. SUBSTANCE: three patient's skull side computer topograms are performed, namely, palatopharyngeal lock is in state of rest and during phonation of sounds "a:" and "i:". Obtained information is recorded on laser disc. Results of computer-tomographic examinations are processed, and density of soft palate tissues is measured in Housefield units (H). Then cephalometric measurements of palatopharyngeal lock are carried out on computer monitor. If soft palate density is within 56-85 H units, slight defect of joining of palatopharyngeal lock is diagnosed. This defect needs conservative treatment. In case of density equals 86-100 H units, serious defect is diagnosed and it requires surgical intervention. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of diagnostics, reduced time of examination. 3 ex
