FIELD: production of commercial cellulose from fibrous material containing lignocellulose in primary, preferably disc refiners. SUBSTANCE: material is preliminarily heated to temperature excessing the temperature of vitrification of lignin contained therein. Material is held at this temperature for not more than one minute, preferably, for 10-30 s. Heated material is subjected to highly intensive comminution in refiner with obtaining of cellulose. Produced cellulose possesses high quality and for its further refining various refiners may be used. Depending on concrete objective, duration of preliminary heating may be regulated by reducing for instance total consumption of power or by increasing the strength properties of produced cellulose. EFFECT: production of qualitative commercial cellulose with lower consumption of power. 28 cl, 4 dwg
