FIELD: analytical methods. SUBSTANCE: method is applicable in analysis of treated waste waters in aniline-dye industry and other aniline- and phenol-containing waste waters. Method consists in, first, extraction of aniline with methyl acetate from potassium fluoride-saturated aqueous solution at pH 11-12 followed by extraction of phenol at pH 2-3, whereupon the two compounds are photometrically determined in reextracts: aniline from its reaction with chloramine T and phenol from its reaction with 4-aminoantipyrin.
