FIELD: analytical methods. SUBSTANCE: test sample is passed through chromatographic column filled with polymer adsorbent preliminarily treated with liquid mixture containing 70-74% tri-n-butyl phosphate and 30-26% dinonyl phosphate followed by desorption of phenol for determination thereof in desorbate employing physico- chemical techniques. Method makes it possible to selectively determine phenol in presence of guaiacol, to increase mechanical stability of mixed fixed phase on surface of adsorbent thereby enabling repeated use of column, and to reduce expenses on treatment of polymer adsorbent with mixed liquid fixed phase.
