FIELD: chemical industry, more particularly production of sulfonol. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes method of neutralization of alkylbenzenesulfonic acid using neutralization agent at elevated temperature. Neutralization agent is 30-45% aqueous solution of sodium carbonate which is mixed with alkylbenzenesulfonic acid with simultaneous distribution of reaction compound in the form of thin turbulized layer on heated surface of reaction apparatus. Process is carried out using excessive amount (1-5%) of sodium carbonate. Thine turbulized layer is formed by splashing reaction compound onto heated surface of apparatus by centrifugal rotor and spreading reaction compound by rotating rotor blades over said surface to thickness of 0.1-1 cm. Residence time of reaction compound on heated surface varies from 10 to 60 sec. EFFECT: more efficient neutralization method. 5 cl
