FIELD: electrical equipment of stations, substations, power transmission lines, and miscellaneous power installations. SUBSTANCE: transformer has magnetic core, primary and secondary windings. Load is connected to secondary leads. Primary winding has two coils wound unidirectionally with similar number of turns per core. Finishing lead of first coil and starting lead of second coil are interconnected to form series circuit. Other leads of coils are individually connected to power supply. Secondary winding is placed on same core as primary winding and is wound on both legs and, hence, on both primary coils. Optional version of transformer may have its primary winding built up of two coils wound in opposite directions with similar number of turns per core. Coil leads are interconnected into series circuit. Both primary coils are individually connected through their opposite leads to power supply.
