FIELD: purification and discoloration of fermentation media during directed biosynthesis of citric acid. SUBSTANCE: on completion of fermentation, mineral sorbent such as activated bentonite (2-5 g/cu.dm) is added to fermentation solution. Solution is then filtered through layer or zeolite. Biocon agent is simultaneously added together with bentonite. This increases flocculating property of bentonite. EFFECT: simpler and cheaper cleansing of citric acid solution and more effective removal of impurities. 2 cl, 2 dwg, 1 tbl
