FIELD: operation of mains; gas and oil industries; injecting cleaning tools and flaw detectors into and withdrawing them from pipe lines. SUBSTANCE: chamber includes adapter, housing of chamber and end seal whose hinged cover is provided with swivel unit and mechanism for locking it tightly. Length of chamber ranges from 3.0 to 16.0 of diameter of adapter. Hinged cover is connected with swivel unit by means of guide. Swivel unit is provided with devices for accurate control of cover position. Cover is mounted for safe horizontal motion and complete removal of it from flow tools from reeving or receiving zone. Mechanism for tight locking of cover on housing of seal is made in form of clamping jaws with profiled locking members which are kinematically interconnected by means of drive mechanisms. Clamping jaws are mounted on bushing of chamber for gripping and locking mating members fitted on cover and housing of chamber, thus forming tight connection. It is good practice to make locking profiled members of cover and housing in form of circular wedge-shaped beads on their and surfaces and profiled clamping locking members of jaws in form of circular wedge-shaped (in plan) bores on inner surfaces of jaws.
