PREPARATION CONTAINING IMMUNOGLOBULIN AGAINST ABOL FEVER FROM HORSE BLOOD SERUM AND LIQUID ABOL IMMUNOGLOBULIN Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: antifever drugs. SUBSTANCE: preparation designed for emergency Abol fever prevention possesses virus-neutralization activity with regard to Abol virus. Preparation represents 9-11% solution of immunoglobulin from hyperimmune horse blood serum. Such serum is obtained after at least 3 cycles of animal immunization with native Abol virus. Preparation contains gamma- globulin fraction in quantities from 0.081 to 0.110 g/ml, which corresponds to at least 90% of total protein content. Titer of virus- neutralization antibodies in preparation is at least 1:4096 and pH value 7.0-7.5. Level of nonspecific fractions, namely alpha- and beta-globulin fractions, is no higher than 10%, and residual ethanol content no higher than 4%. EFFECT: application of preparation to prevent Abol fever reduces probability of adverse phenomena such as infection with diseases transmitted through blood.
