FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: root loading unit has loader with receiving chute 1 and feeder 2, root cleaning device 3, loading elevator 4 and frame 5. Feeler wheels 6 are mounted in front part of frame 5 and rear part of frame 5 is pivotally connected with tractor hanger mechanism through transverse bar 7. Root loading unit is further equipped with hydraulic retaining and correcting cylinder 9 mounted between frame 5 and transverse bar 7 at an angle of 15-30 deg to direction of advancement and in horizontal plane extending through axial lines of trailer 8 and hydraulic cylinder 9.
