FIELD: aviation; emergency descents. SUBSTANCE: parachute is secured to descent object by means of line and roller; rope may be passed towards free end and may be decelerated towards parachute; free end of rope is connected to flying vehicle and rate of descent is regulated through heaving in the rope. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of descent rate control.
