SUBSTANCE: cephalosporin derivatives of general formula I: wherein Z is -CH(X)NH₂ wherein X is phenyl or group of formula II: R² wherein C₃-C₆ is hydrogen, oxy, lower alkyl, Q_m cycloalkyl, preferably cyclopropylmethyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, aryl-C₃-C₆, aralkoxy or heterocycle selected from group consisting of pyridyl, pyrazinyl, isoxazolyl optionally substituted by lower alkyl, pyrimidinyl or 1,1-dioxotetrahydrothienyl; lower alkyl, R³ cycloalkyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, aryl, aralkoxy and heterocyclyl being substituted by at least one group selected from carboxy, amino, nitro, cyano, lower alkoxy, oxy, halogen; C₃-C₆ is hydrogen, lower alkyl, R⁵CO cycloalkyl, -C(R⁷R⁸)CO₂R⁹ or R⁵ wherein R⁷ is lower alkyl, R⁸ and R⁹ are each independently hydrogen or lower alkyl, and SO₂ is hydrogen or lower alkyl; Q is -CO- or ; m is 0 or 1; n is 0,1 or 2, and readily hydrolysable esters thereof, pharmaceutically acceptable salts or said compounds and hydrates of compounds of formula I, and esters and salts thereof.
