FIELD: installations for mechanical energy generation form compressed-gas energy such as compressor plants. SUBSTANCE: plant has compressed-gas source 1, conversion unit 2 incorporating hydraulic machine 3 and two sealed tanks 4, 5 communicating through hydraulic lines 6 and 7 with inlet and outlet of hydraulic machine 3; tank 4 is filled with working fluid and communicates through pneumatic line 8 and pressure-operated valve 9 with compressed-gas source 1; plant also has controlled hydraulic valves 10, 11 mounted in hydraulic lines 6, 7 and load 12 connected to shaft 13 of hydraulic machine 3. Plant is provided with at least one additional conversion unit 2 connected through pressure-operated valve 9 of line 8 to compressed-gas source 1; all hydraulic machines 3 are convertible units mounted on common shaft 13; other tank 5 of each unit 2 communicates through controlled pneumatic valve 14 with atmosphere. In addition, tanks 4 and 5 mount measuring instruments (for example, pressure gages) whose readings are used to control pneumatic valves 14. EFFECT: simplified design and improved efficiency. 1 dwg
