FIELD: laying of pipe-lines, repair operations on pipe-lines. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in insulation machines employed for application of mastics on pipe-lines during construction and repair related to replacement of insulation. In correspondence with first version gear includes split chamber which rear part has forming head in the form of truncated cone, which bigger base carries aprons that repeat shape of truncated cone, are made from heat-resistant material and which sides are cut oblique. Adjacent sides f aprons overlap one another by oblique cuts. Each apron is fitted with upper and lower plates produced from springy steel. In agreement with second version gear includes split chamber which rear part has split forming head in the form of two semi- rings on which shutters re mounted for movement in wedge-type guides. Pockets interacting with springs are made in shutters. Rollers placed with the use of columns fixed by nuts are installed in pockets. It is found advantageous to install heaters in chambers according to both versions. Mastic is pumped into chamber embracing pipe- line with the help of pump. Chamber moving along pipe-line covers it by uniform layer of insulation ( system " pipe-line - chamber being extruder ). When geometrical characteristics of pipe-line change, for instance due to ellipticity or weld, springy plates operate and sides of aprons move apart. EFFECT: improved uniformity of application of insulation mastic on pipe-line, possibility of adjustment of thickness of insulation layer. 3 cl, 6 dwg
