FIELD: pipeline construction.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises applying the thermoplastic two-layers belt with polymeric adhesion agent on the preliminary cleaned surface of the pipeline along the screw line, bending the belt to form a loop whose diameter exceeds the diameter of the pipeline, heating the belt from the side of the adhesion agent up to a temperature at which it turns into the viscous-flow condition, turning the belt to a position at which the adhesion agent faces the pipeline, and affecting the belt by distributed load at the moment when it is in a contact with the surface of the pipeline. The adhesion agent is distributed so that to fill irregularities and to displace air with simultaneous locking the edge of the belt at the site where it overlaps the previous turn with tension that increases from the edge.
