FIELD: meteorology, health services. SUBSTANCE: ion counter has instrument capacitor, electrometer and electric capacitor. Capacitance of electric capacitor is chosen in agreement with system of inequalities , where C is capacitance of electric capacitor; tc is specified period of continuous measurement on upper measurement limit of ion current of counter; R is insulation resistance between leads-out of electric capacitor; ΔUper - is largest permissible drop of absolute value of rated voltage across instrument capacitor; Iup is value of upper measurement limit of ion current of counter; Re is input resistance of electrometer; U0- is value of rated voltage across instrument capacitor. Technical result of given invention consists in that drop of absolute value of rated voltage across instrument capacitor does not exceed most permissible value with ion current of Iup in the course of period tc. EFFECT: enhanced operational reliability of ion counter. 2 dwg, 1 tbl
