FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: according to the method direct current is generated by means of a circuit composed of measuring capacitor Cx and ramp generator, while value of electrical capacitance is defined against time Δt, during which voltage difference between electrodes of the capacitor reaches certain level ΔU, quantity of electrons passing through the circuit with generated current (at that each electron passing through this circuit is recorded), and against electron charge; the above values are transmitted to a personal computer, whereat they are processed as per the following formula: Cx=e·f·Δt/ΔU, where: e is electronic charge; f is measured frequency (number) of electrons at output of the current meter; Δt is time interval within which voltage is changed per value ΔU; at that measuring of the capacitor capacitance takes placed in conditions of the capacitor operation when generated current passes through it.

EFFECT: improved accuracy of capacitance measurement for direct current and expanded range of capacitance change to less value, provided direct recording of charge with electron discretisation.
