FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves examining fatty acid composition of exhaled air condensate of pregnant women. Relative contents of fatty acids is calculated. The ratio of sums of fatty acids with even number of carbon atoms and with odd number of carbon atoms (fetus hypoxia coefficient) is used for making conclusions concerning oxygen insufficiency in fetus. In examining fatty acid composition of exhaled air condensate of a pregnant woman whose fetus is subjected to oxygen insufficiency by applying gas and liquid chromatography, hypoxia coefficient is significantly greater by 15.5 units. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of diagnosis.
