FIELD: spacecraft power supplies. SUBSTANCE: power plant has reactor, radiation safety containment, and power-generating equipment. Radiation safety containment is built up of heavy safety component and light one. Heavy component is secured directly to reactor face and light component is spaced from reactor face through distance found from equation given in description of invention. Placed between heavy and light components are units capable of functioning in radiation fluxes. In addition, expansion tank is mounted between operating mechanisms of control elements and electromagnetic pump. EFFECT: reduced size and mass of plant due to reduced thickness of heavy and light safety components. 1 dwg
