DEVICE FOR DETECTION OF WEAR FERROMAGNETIC PARTICLES IN OIL Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: detection of ferromagnetic particles in oil systems of power plants. SUBSTANCE: device includes sensor with magnetic gap, magnetizing/demagnetizing coils, comparator, magnetizing/demagnetizing unit with preset form signal generating unit and power amplifier, sensor control unit with gate units and clock pulse generator, measurement recording and indicating unit and power supply unit. Sensor control unit is additionally provided with flip-flop, command pulse shaper, demagnetizing cycle counter and inverter. Besides that, device is additionally provided with failure indicating unit. Sensor is fitted in scavenge line of oil system; sensor includes sensitive element with magnetic working gap and magnetizing/demagnetizing coil. Duration of magnetizing/demagnetizing cycle of sensor is equal to 2.5 s and power requirements does not exceed 3 W. Device operates when wear ferromagnetic particles having mass lesser than 0.2 microgram and size of 50 mk appear in oil system false operation (sticking of contacts) is excluded. EFFECT: enhanced reliability due to avoidance of false operation and enhanced sensitive due to increased frequency of operation. 2 cl, 1 dwg
