FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves examining peripheral patient blood, determining general leukocyte number, percent level of leukocytes, T-lymphocytes, monocytes, band neutrophils in blood formula, absolute number of blood T- and B- lymphocytes, segmented leukocytes, O-cells, young T-, sedimentless, restored, stable, theophylline-sensitive and theophylline-resistant lymphocytes, circulating blood volume, spontaneous test, A- and M immunoglobulin concentration are determined, their total population is calculated. General immunocompetent cell population size ratio to mean tumor diameter and diagnostic indices are determined. Two or more positive values of general immunocompetent cell population to mean tumor diameter ratio and diagnostic indices relative to a threshold level being detected, the case of no metastases available is to be diagnosed. The like index being one or less than one, the case of malignant neoplasm metastases in regional lymphatic nodes is to be diagnosed. EFFECT: high accuracy of analysis results. 2 tbl
