FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgical production including blast-furnace, steel-smelting, and rolling conversions and, more specifically, to cast iron and steel production technology and processing of cast iron and steel into preforms and products, and also to agglomeration process technology. Invention consists in additionally using, in cast iron smelting, rare- earth metals, (0.001 to 0.7 wt.%; and strontium, 0.01 to 1.0 wt.%, which are added at least partially to charge materials simultaneously with addition of fluxed agglomerate and/or having been preliminarily added to the latter. Those supplementary materials are at least partially introduced into charge materials when solid fuel, including coke, is loaded into furnace: 10-30% of strontium and 75-90% of rare- earth metals based on their total amounts to be added to charge materials. Additives are at least partially in the form of metal- containing or oxide-containing compositions. Besides, in the production stage, agglomerate is supplemented with materials including rare-earth metals and strontium in amounts 0.002 to 0.7 and 0.005 to 1.0 wt.%, respectively, their addition to agglomerate charge being at least partially performed in the stage of mixing iron-ore concentrate, ore and additives.
