FIELD: processes and apparatuses for working materials moved by high-speed conveyor lines. SUBSTANCE: in order to increase efficiency of high speed conveyer line due to increasing motion speed of worked material (until 4-4.5 m/s), quick action (until 0.005 s) of working organ, simplification of drive unit, enhanced accuracy of format cutting off and enhanced uniformness of effort distribution along length of working organ, the last is secured to traverse bar of movable portion of inductor. Said movable portion is mounted with possibility of moving in guides to working position and returning to initial position by gravity or by action of return shock absorbers. Traverse bar of inductor carrying working organ is driven to motion due to creation of pulse or pulse train of magnetic field in stationary winding of inductor. Magnetic field pulses are created by applying electric current pulses with duration 0.000001-0.01 s. Apparatus for cutting off moving material, mainly veneer sheet, includes supply conveyor, frame, movable cutter and means for driving blade to motion in the form of inductor that may create magnetic field pulses. Cutter is secured to traverse bar of inductor. Apparatus also includes generator of electric current pulses, detector of material format, supporting shaft coated with elastic material and receiving conveyor whose drive unit is common with that of supply conveyor.
