FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: air is blown at high temperature through petroleum residue containing organic additive: surfactant consisting of distilled primary C17-C20-aliphatic amines in amounts 0.01 to 0.1% based on raw material weight. With optimum surfactant amounts, consumption of hydrocarbon additive is tenfold decreased, oxidation time is reduced from 240 to 210 min, air consumption is reduced by 20%, required oxidation temperature is lowered by 10 C, content of oxygen in ascending oxidation gases is decreased by 40-50%, bitumen penetration and penetration index are raised by 16-23 and 26-38%, respectively, with the same softening temperature, bitumen elongation is increased by 19- 34%, and Fraas brittleness temperature is lowered by 3-10 C. EFFECT: enhanced process efficiency and improved product quality. 2 tbl, 5 ex
