FIELD: petroleum industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of petroleum refining, in particular, to a method for producing bitumen from the vacuum bottoms/topped residuum petroleum distillation residue. The method is implemented by oxidating the vacuum bottoms/topped residuum with air oxygen at a temperature from 250 to less than 270°C in the presence of an additive. A fraction of 270°C -KK of heavy pyrolysis resin taken in an amount from 3 to less than 5 wt.% or from more than 5 to 15 wt.% relative to the raw materials is therein used as an additive.
EFFECT: developed method for producing bitumen characterised by increased operating characteristics, including after aging, as well as reduction in the variable costs for production of bitumen due to the reduction in the time of oxidation.
