FIELD: double-coordinate devices with program-controlled linear engines, such as precision-controlled machines, high-precision copying and graphic units. SUBSTANCE: coordinate table has two parallel guides extending along opposite sides of table. Portal is positioned for displacement on guides by means of linear engines. Toothed stators are positioned on each side guide and on portal. Movable inducers are provided with three-sided aerostatic supports. Movable parts of side linear electric engines are attached to portal ends by pivotal supports having two and three degrees of freedom, respectively. Head with working tool is mounted on movable part of electric engine. Portal has hollow carrier beam and toothed stator mounted on carrier beam mid portion. Granite or basalt supporting bars are fixed in symmetry at both sides of stator. Method involves cutting profiled strips from electrical steel sheets; positioning strips on carrier frame at predetermined distance one with respect to another and attaching by means of connecting members; gathering pack of magnetic cores on strips; positioning control windings and permanent magnets; forming monolithic unit and removing connecting members. EFFECT: provision for high-precision working of parts on coordinate table, enhanced reliability in operation and increased service life of electric engines. 5 cl, 4 dwg
