FIELD: coal mining industry. SUBSTANCE: method is intended for fighting with gas presence and gas-dynamic occurrences in mines. According to method, cut out in gas-bearing coal seam is block and column in block. Development drifts are driven for contouring of column. Then, bore-holes are drilled. bore-holes are sealed-in and connected to gas withdrawing device. Additionally driven are adjacent drifts, and geophysical stations are marked out over length of adjacent drifts. Determined are zones of high fissuring in coal seam. Stable holes are arranged in contoured workings. Bore-holes are drilled in zones of high fissuring. Determined is gas volume in underground workings. Determined is coefficient of degassing efficiency which is maintained at required level by means of variation of vacuum, distances between bore-holes, length and number of bore-holes drilled in coal seam with taking account of direction of prevailing fissuring in coal seam. Application of aforesaid method allows for enhancing safety of miners' work together with improvement of performance characteristics in operation of mines. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 dwg
