METHOD OF TREATING CONTAMINATED MATERIAL Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

Abstract RU 2133632 C1

FIELD: material pollution control. SUBSTANCE: material contaminated with organic substances and metals is first treated with microbial agents destroying organic contaminate pollutants under aerobic conditions and neutral pH values. Material is then treated with sulfuric acid under aerobic conditions and acidic pH values to convert metal into soluble sulfate salts. The latter are precipitated biologically under anaerobic conditions in the form of insoluble sulfides. EFFECT: facilitated material purification procedure with no need in collecting it as refuse. 11 cl, 1 dwg
