METHOD FOR MANUFACTURE OF COVERING PLATES WITH LIGHT-REFLECTIVE SURFACE Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: construction material industry, in particular, production of decorative and covering plates. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing basic material mixture by mixing mineral binder, small-size filler, mineral filler - quartz sand, coloring agent, plasticizing additive and water; providing casting molding and hardening of articles. Portland cement is used as mineral binder. Basic mixture is obtained by mixing portland cement with plasticizing additive and covering agent in ball mill for 15-25 min till S(specific) reaches 5,500-6,000 g/sq cm, with following introducing of small-size filler, such as quartz sand, mineral filler and water. Articles are formed by pouring basic material mixture onto matrix with flexibility of at least 5-7 deg relative to matrix plane. Matrix is defined by prisms disposed with their bases in horizontal plane on hexagon perimeter, each prism having base made in the form of scalene triangle. Height of each prism is a/2 3, where a is prism base side length, or each prism has square base. Two sides are made in the form of isosceles triangles with height of a/2, where a is prism base side length, and two other opposite sides define trapezium whose second base is 1/2a. Prism distribution density is at least 10-15 per 1 sq cm. Method allows covering plates with increased light reflectivity in incident rays of vehicles to be produced. EFFECT: increased efficiency and strength, improved weatherability, frost resistance and increased service life.
