FIELD: sealing shafts of various turbomachines. SUBSTANCE: seal includes axially movable ring with pressure device and revolving sealing ring. End sealing surface of one of sealing rings is provided with spiral grooves. Radial of working and non-working edges of grooves, radius of circle on which above-mentioned radial are located and angle between points from which working and non-working edges of one and the same spiral groove are passed are calculated by formulae. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of seal due to maintenance of nominal working clearance between sealing rings in wide range of frequencies of rotation. 2 cl, 3 dwg
