FIELD: mechanical engineering; sealing arrangements. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sealing devices and it can be used for sealing rotation shafts of turbomachines of different application. Proposed turbocompressor shaft sealing contains thrust ring with pressure device installed in housing and support ting installed on shaft. Sealing belt and pressure section are provided on end face surface of one of rings. Spiral grooves are made on pressure section. Angular pitch between spiral grooves exceeds spiral groove opening angle. At least part of spiral grooves is grouped into similar groups uniformly spaced over circumference, number of groups being three, minimum. Angular pitch between adjacent spiral grooves in group can be either equal or increase (decrease) in direction of shaft rotation. As a result, higher gas pressure is provided on sections with smaller angular pitch between spiral grooves which contributes to formation of circular wavy microdeformation of more liable sealing ring. Simultaneously several microwedges of working medium are additionally formed in sealing clearance which provides stable operation of sealing within wide of rotational speeds and opening of sealing clearance at low rotational speeds of turbocompressor shaft.
